Tôn Thất An has composed a piece for solo violin, commissioned by Vietnamese violinist Phạm Anh Thư for her upcoming recital in September at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. The piece, entitled Obsession, is an etude, based on the famous Vietnamese song Rừng xưa đã khép by Trịnh Công Sơn.

The recital will take place on September 23, 2023, and will include works by Josef Suk, Gabriel Fauré, Darius Milhaud, Dmitri Shostakovich, Henri Vieuxtemps; Nguyen Van Dong and Maurice Ravel.
