Last Meal premieres at the Kaohsiung Film Festival

Among the five films for which Tôn Thất An composed the music since October 2020 is this one short film, Last Meal 最後一票 by Arrow Peng, about the life of homeless people in Taipei, and centered on an ex-gangster played by veteran actor Hung Lin. There was very little time to write the score, only one week, as the emergency was that Hung Lin was very sick, and his days were numbered. Yet when offered to play in the film, he immediately accepted despite his condition.
The plan was to finish the film on time for festivals submition and, most of all, organise a special screening for him before. Fortunately, everything was done in time.
Last Meal will have its world premiere at the Kaohsiung Film Festival in Taiwan this month.
Unfortunately, Hung Lin passed away in August, but he still had the time to see what was to be his last screen appearance.
He could leave on that beautiful note.
