After a six-year hiatus from contemporary dance, Tôn Thất An’s new stage work is KLISELAMEF (Female Silk) a dance piece choreographed by Nguyễn Tấn Lộc for his Saigon based company Arabesque. Tôn Thất An wrote the music especially for dancer Tatsumi Chika, a beautiful dancer and mesmerising performer, for whom he had previously composed the music of her dance duet Seeking in 2015.
KLISELAMEF finds its inspiration in the figure of the Vietnamese woman, her resilience and her strength behind her frail appearance.
The 40 minute piece will be premiered this summer during the Salerno Danza Festival ad Ascea in Italy, as well as the Umbria Danza Festival in Perugia.
