Auguries of Innocence: new collaboration with Wong Chi Yung

The new collaboration between Hong Kong artist Wong Chi Yung and Vietnamese composer Tôn Thất An will be Auguries of Innocence 天真的預言, an online virtual work, a “visual album inspired by mindfulness”, says Wong Chi Yung.

Auguries of Innocence 天真的預言 is the 4th chapter of Wong Chi-yung’s contemplative arts installation series on his artistic research. Wong draws inspiration from the poem Auguries of Innocence by William Blake, in which he reflects on its narrative on finding balance and beauty in conflict situations.

In this new chapter, Wong focuses on searching for solace in grief through the lens of mindfulness, presenting a series of projects as an artistic response to his research, which include the ‘Visual Album’, an artist talk in three Parts and In-between Two Realms, an online forum about the Making of Auguries of Innocence.

“The creative journey of this new work started from reflecting about the death of my uncle who died from cancer, and I turn my thought about the emotion from finding solace in grief into this conceptual artwork…”
Wong Chi Yung
