EEL 河鰻: Chu Chun Teng‘s debut feature and return to filmmaking after twenty years will have its world premiere at the 75th Berlinale this week, on February 19th!
The cast includes Devin Pan 潘綱大 (Goddamned Asura 該死的阿修羅) who gives an arresting performance in the film, and pop songstress Misi Ke 柯灭薰 in her first starring role.
The stunning cinematography is by Nguyễn Vinh Phúc. It is pure magic and if you’ve seen Ròm or Lê Bảo‘s Taste you’ll know immediately what we are talking about! Eel is his first non-Vietnamese film as a DOP.
Besides starring in the film, Misi Ke has also written the end title song, Bird talk, which features in her newly released album Be Good, which Tôn Thất An has reworked and re-arranged for the film. The soundtrack of the film shall be launched to coincide with the film’s theatrical release later this year.
Eel is in competition in the Perspective section.
