Lots of happy news for MOONLIGHT SHADOW ムーンライト・シャドウ: Edmund Yeo‘s adaptation of the Banana Yoshimoto novella will be released theatrically in Taiwan on January 21, 2022.
MOONLIGHT SHADOW will also be theatrically released in Thailand in February, and part of a selection of 12 Japanese movies that will be presented during the Japanese Film Festival 2022, which will take place at House Samyan in Samyan Mitrtown, Rama IV Road, from tomorrow to eb 13, and SFX Cinema Maya in Chiang Mai from Feb 25-27.
After its theatrical realease, Moonlight Shadow will be making its way to Netflix Thailand.
In Malaysia, the film will be one of the highlights of the Japanese Film Festival in January. The event is organised by the Japan Foundation in Kuala Lumpur, and is finally taking place this month after many postponements. Here is the screening schedule.

Outside of Asia, Moonlight Shadow will have its European premiere at the 19th edition of the Asian Film Festival in Rome, Italy!
Moreover, we are very happy that Himi Sato won the Best Male Newcomer Award at the Japan Movie Critics Award for his subtle performance of Hiiragi in the film.
Not only is he a promising young actor, he’s also a nice person and a talented singer-songwriter!
