Ròm, Trần Thanh Huy‘s first feature film opens theatrically in Japan on July 9, making it the third film from the recent Vietnamese New Wave to be released in the country, after Ash Mayfair‘s The Third Wife and Leon Le‘s Song Lang.
The film garnered the New Current Best Film prize at the Busan International Film Festival in 2019, as well as Best First Feature at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal in 2020.
