Here’s the official trailer for Between Shadow and Soul, a silent / black & white reworking on Ash Mayfair‘s critically acclaimed debut feature The Third Wife (2018).
New music by Tôn Thất An has been composed for this version and features his loyal team of musicians: HoLin Tang and Emily Chang (cellos), Isabelle Thomas and Lisa Liang (vocal), Allen Wu (percussion), Ryan Zen (bamboo flute), Hong Lee Chuang (sakuhachi flute), Keith Lee (guzheng), Hiroki Nakagawa (taigu drums).

Between Shadow and Soul will be soon launched at Virtual Cinema, a vitual exhibition platform organised by New York distributor Film Movement with Art House Convergence in response to theatre closures amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Virtual Cinema’s first five screenings included Jan Komasa’s Oscar-nominee Corpus Christi is on the list, alongside Diao Yinan’s Chinese noir thriller The Wild Goose Lake, Bertrand Bonello’s Haiti-set fantasy Zombi Child, and digitally restored classics L’Innocente by Luchino Visconti, as well as Bruno Barreto’s Dona Flor and her two Husbands.
