Sam Liao 五大唱片 : 西部 Forgotten West

For some time already, Sam Liao had been wanting to collaborate with Tôn Thất An on an album. The opportunity arose with Forgotten West, for which the French-Vietnamese composer co-wrote and arranged four songs.
He brought a more cinematic atmosphere to the songs, blended elements of progressive rock, electronica, dub, classical music and even French poetry to Sam’s melodies. The songs were restructured and extended (Styx is more than 8 minutes long and became the first album single, with an accompanying music video!!!)
The result surprised and pleased the audience.

Sam Liao’s Forgotten West was nominated at the Taiwan 30th Golden Melody Award in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Taiwanese Album, Best Music Arrangement and Best Males Taiwanese Singer, and won for Best Taiwanese Album (Forgotten West) and Best Music Arrangement (An Ton That).
