Serpent’s Tails [Rồng rắn lên], a video installation by Vietnamese artist Ưudàm Nguyễn which was premiered at the 8th Asia Pacific Contemporary Art Triennial in Brisbane last November will be exhibited during the Art Stage Singapore this month of January, from the 21st to the 24th.
“Ưudàm Trần Nguyễn, who transforms the boundaries between urban myth and popular legend, both celebrates and warns of the role and impact of human progress and its desire for social advancement. His newest 3-channel video ‘Serpent’s Tails’ 2015, is a vividly compelling performance where the motorbikes of Ho Chi Minh City act out a contemporary tale of danger in man’s search for immortality.”
